Our Story — Auntie Poon’s Legacy, A Grandson’s Promise


In Sydney, where traditions find new life and family stories live on, a grandson carries forward the legacy of his beloved Popo - Auntie Poon - through the timeless craft of Bak Kwa.

This isn’t just Bak Kwa.

This is Popo’s (Auntie Poon’s) Bak Kwa — a smoky, caramelised, sweet-savoury delicacy created from a treasured recipe lovingly passed down from grandmother to grandson. Each slice carries with it the warmth of heritage and the strength of family bonds.

For Auntie Poon, Bak Kwa was never just food. It was a gift of love, patience, and resilience — a way of bringing people together.

Inspired by her spirit, her grandson chose to carry on her legacy. He began making the bak kwa just as she taught him, by hand, in small batches, with unwavering attention to detail and love in every slice. He transformed her family recipe into a brand that shares not only the taste of tradition but also the story of a grandmother’s devotion and a grandson’s desire to keep it alive.
